Micro-credit consists in the extension of very small loans (microloans).
Here you are some of the microcredit opportunities available in the Ionian Adriatic region:
The Pancretan Cooperative Bank Ltd (PCB) has joined the group of microcredit providers under Progress Microfinance since 2012. Offering up to € 6 million of microloans to Greek micro-entrepreneurs, with a focus on financing start-ups and new borrowers with a robust business plan, it aims to increase access to finance for micro-entrepreneurs, including the self-employed. It has a particular focus on groups with limited access to the conventional credit market. Examples include female entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs belonging to a minority group, entrepreneurs with a disability, sole traders etc.
Microcredit is the extension of very small loans (microloans) to impoverished borrowers who typically lack collateral, steady employment and a verifiable credit history. It is designed not only to support entrepreneurship and alleviate poverty, but also in many cases to empower women and uplift entire communities by extension.
